been reading the threads here about cooling, I don't want to use water yet as still new to this OCing.

The best choices seem to b:-

Freezer 7 Pro or Scythe.

TJS sugested Monsoon2 is this any better or not??

Will b using it on C2D E6600

I have a freezer7 pro and would recommend it :) as it is brilliant for the price.

I think the tuniq tower's and scythe's are way too big and are overkill for core2duo's really. They also seem to cost a lot.

I'm just thinking the heat output of most core2duo's is a lot lower than that of a prescott etc.

All Conroe and Allendale based processors are specified to out put 65W TDP. Equivalent AMD processors are specified at 125W (FX-62) and 89W for the X2 3800-5000+

Intel Pentium D 960 130W

Intel Pentium D 840 130W

My CPU is cool & quiet @ 3.2Ghz with a freezer7 pro on 50% fanspeed. :)

tuniq tower if i was going to buy a new one, but if ya have TOO much money then have a look at the TEC coolers (Titan Amanda) specifically.

the coolermaster gemin2 (iirc) is pretty godo as it cools the surrounding parts on the mobo aswell

Thanks for all the info guys

had a look at the reviews of the Scythe Infinity and the Tuniq Tower on this and other sites. The Scythe seems to be slightly better at cooling and is just a bit cheaper.

Going to buy the Scythe tomorrow and get it Tuesday
