i dont think you can xfire differnt series ATI cards but you can the same series like 4870 xfire'd with a 4890 ot 4890 with 5870

True.

You can Crossfire HD 5870 with HD 5850 or HD 5970 , but not with a HD 5770/5750/5670 etc.

likewise you can Crossfire HD 5770 with HD 5750 but not with HD 58xx cards

What res/monitor size is the PC going to be powering? Looking at the options you've given I'd go for the 5770, it's cheapest, quietest and coolest running so you can overclock the hell out of it easily. If the screen size is going to be anything under 22" I doubt you'll notice any difference between any of them anyway.

Woah that is quite a big screen! Playing modern games with any of those cards at that res is going to be a bit of a stretch. Off the top of my head though I'd guess the 4890 would be the closest option.

I would spend a bit more money and get a 5850 so you're future proof

ermm it's not really advertising another website, he's just providing a link with more infomation.

Good choice on the 5770 btw, when they drop get another for crossfire, I heard they are near the performance of a 5870 when they are.
