Which brand to choose

im saving up to build a new computer and wanted to know which brand for a motherboard and graphics would be better
asus or evga?
like which one has better performances and reliablity

For motherboards: Out of the two, i'd say Asus. But, for Z77 at least, i've turned into a huge MSI fanboy, so i'd recommend them also.

But, you need to be more specific. Each motherboard manufacturer and graphics card manufacturer has a huge range of products with differing performance etc.

welcome back to the OC3D forums, where have you been for 2.5years?

that is such a vague question.. we don't even know what you are using the pc for?
different processing features for different venues of usage. gaming, processing, vid rendering,
server, and others... you'll ahve to be a lil more specific on what type of PC you are looking
to build. we can spend your money so fast and so wrong until we know more facts of your
needs..

i've been gone cause of personal problems and wanted to delete this account a few weeks ago cause i deleted my email and didn't know i could change it haha and im trying to build a gaming rig i got the coolmaster storm trooper case i picked out and i wanna do a 2011 socket build but since i went to bootcamp and mct and alot of other training hadn't had the chance to look up whats good or know where to start all i knew is that im trying to save up/build a gaming computer and don't know which brand of either asus or evga is a good brand for the 2011 socket and i don't recieve my orders for a permanent duty station till another 6-8 months so i have enough time to save up before i buy the parts and as for the graphics i want a gtx 690 1GB two of em for sli i just don't know which brand is better

Hmm. I see.
3570k + gtx 670 = gaming pc
3770k + gtx 670 = gaming pc with chance to video edit a little more quickly

Also...690 1GB? Wut :)
Quad SLI for anything other than benchmarks is RIDICULOUS. Stay away.

my bad thought they had a gtx 690 1gb well which graphics card would be best for a dual sli rig? a 670 or 680? and would evga or asus would be better for them and for socket 2011
either an evga socket 2011 x79 ftw or an asus rampage iv extreme

Why do you want SLI? It's not needed. As i've already said; a single 670 is all you need.
Nor is socket 2011 - you're just trying to spend a certain amount of money, and don't want to spend less.

Between those two boards, the Asus is far the superior, but LGA1155 is all that you would need.

i do wanna spend less but idk i just think that if i get those specific parts it'll last for a good while and play alot of futre games on high

3570k, MSI Z77A GD65, GTX670 = years of playing games at high, and hundreds of pounds saved. The money saved can be spent in the future on newer cards that would be able to keep up with the more strenuous games.

Grown man or not, Airdeano was merely being polite and adding a little small talk. You, on the other hand, were impolite.
At any rate, this has gone off topic.

It's all good - we all have our off days :)
But we HAVE gone off topic, so let's try and change that.
Let me compile a shopping list to show what a high end gaming PC should contain.

It should be noted, and also evident, that I have not gone for a budget system here at all, as that's not what the OP seems to be interested in. This is however a premium gaming PC, and something that would serve you very well.
Cuts could, of course, be made if necessary.
Oh, and the 850w PSU is because you seem to like the idea of SLI.

Ill post this is in here now. If I ever see any attacks or stuff like this from anyone again Ill be handing out some 28 day bans. Remember OC3D is a family, if you dont have anything good to say, dont say it.

+1 on this. This would be a lovely build mate and the AX850 would allow you to add another card easily in the future if you so desired.

The misconception with gaming rigs is the more you spend the better and although to a degree this is true there are many things you would just end up wasting money on.
From what i've seen 2011 is more suited to builds that will be used for rendering and other highly CPU intensive tasks Editing etc.
