Hi all!

im looking for a gaming monitor thats 24". I currently have a 22" Samsung and the blacks just wash out and it really annoys me, the blacks almost look silver as if your looking at the screen from an angle. Theres nothing i can to about it and its just the screen so time for an upgrade i think.

I have £150, it has to be 24" and it has to be wall mountable.

Any recommendations?

Would you consider a 23inch?

The IPS panels are the best you can buy really. Best picture quality you can get, but 24 inch IPS panels break your budget.
23 inch screens come under.

I use these:

And find them perfect.

You're looking at another 50+ pounds for another inch of IPS, which isn't really worth it to me.

Superb monitor for an unbeatable price... Definitely the one to go for.

Been using this for the last month, nothing wrong with it. Great response time, really bright, colors are perfect, not too rich, not too dull, it also looks great. For the money, I think it's brilliant.

That does look good, but no VESA mounts so I can't

They don't seem to have the 24" IPS.

Can you recommend a 24" ips that's close to the budget? Or even a decent standard 24 inch?

I'm doing some work for someone and its a friend so I never take anything from him, this time he said enough a enough, tried to offer me cash which I refused so after him saying that I'm not allowed to help him out any more and blah blah blah I finally agreed to let him buy me a £100 monitor. To that I was going to add £50 but I suppose I could go a bit more. So what do you think? What should I get? I sit pretty close to the screen so I think 24 is the biggest is should go, but what options do you recommend (other than that nice IPS)

Ummm, ok. I just don't know if ill notice the difference in size over what I already have. But if the general consensus is to go for a smaller ip's over a regular 24 tn then ill do that.

Will just mention something...

LG make all the actual IPS panels for 23inch screens - well, near enough all of them.

Whether you buy LG itself, Iiyama, Dell or Acer, or pretty much any other company you can find selling a 23inch IPS screen, the IPS panel will be made by LG - so you're basically buying the same thing.

The only differences will be connectors, and the quality of the stand you get, along with warranty obviously.

ie - there's not really any point in buying the Acer at £147 when you can get the Iiyama for £134 from CCL.
And equally, you can probably find an LG one cheaper too.

The only thing that favours the Dell screens is the quality of the stand and bezel - then the looks. So decide if it's worth spending more on that.
