Where should a beginner start

I am building a new rig and im going to buy a Amd Phenom II processor probably an X6 not exactly sure which one exactly,

and if it would be better to buy the cheapest one off newegg and overclock it or to just pay the extra money and get the black edition X6?

and also once I start overclocking should I just shoot for 4GHz on all cores and not mess with the voltages at all?

it alls depends on what you are going to use the rig for!!!

it you buy an MSI 870A Fuzion Power Edition (cheaper and better than ROGs) mobo, then a 1055T will do ~4GHz easily. (it also has lucid hydra AND OCgenie)

if you decide to go with a BE cpu, then i would advise on just getting a 1090T, as you will not get better clocks than the slightly better 1100T on any mobo unless water-cooled. you should get ~4.5GHz with a great air cooler (D14)

so, do you want 4GHz or 4.5GHz ???
