hi, i want to have a peltier so it will help cool my cpu. i have a q6600 that is watercooled. the problem is that i have no idea where to get the peltier, cold sink, insulation, dielectric grease etc... i tried to look on google but with no sucess.

If someone could post some links to some place where i could get them from that would be great. And i dont know what a good peltier is, but i do know how to put the whole system together.

thanks in advance

I've heard paying a little extra is worth it with peltiers, the cheap ones tend to burn out quite quick. But, as Jim said, Ebay is your best bet.

i have done a quick estimate of around £50 to set up the peltier. is it really worth it? or is it too much hassle?

erm, yes... But not for under £50.

i already have a watercooling system its just i wasnt sure if it was good enough for it to cope with the heat

so well, is there a way to cancel this thread?

well, its made from random parts :

water block - thermaltake w1

reservoir - aquabay m3

radiators - 1x coolermaster from the aqugate vivio set, 1x thermaltake tmg 1 and thinking of getting a thermaltake aquabay 2 radiator.

pump - at the moment its a heatsink/pump from the coolermaster vivo set but i am getting this:http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/product.php?productid=3002&cat=0&page=2

Omg, do not buy thermaltake, they are attrocious. To get the most from your loop, get a laing pump, D-tek waterblock and you should get much better temps.

that's only the pump top, you need the pump as well..

They are expensive, but they last for eeevvveeeerrrr

oh well, ill have to stick to what i have got. i really need a new case though so i have made a new thread, thanks for your help.

Yes, it may be expensive, but you get what you pay for, cheap is never good. A peltier is not good at the best of times, but with a crap kit in the first place then it's just stupid.

im not getting a peltier anyway, and my kit isnt crap thank you very much. it might not be the best but it works. and it keeps my temps down to around 38c. my intel stock cooler kept it around 60c!!!

if i had the money of course i would get the best system i could but i dont.

im going to get a new rad for it and thats it .end of post.
