What's the best/fastest 1gb DDR2 kit available?

Since building my newest rig, I've kinda been bitten by the overclocking bug slightly once again... At the moment, my biggest bottleneck for the overclock is quite clearly my memory.

So my question is; what's the fasted and most uber fantastic 1gb kit currently available that would work a treat on my AB9?

Thx in advance!

Edit: This looks like a good deal after the MIR... (I friggin' hate MIR's, grrrr) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220160

Any PC2-8500 should do you good but also check out the OCZ Gold PC2-8800 and the Corsair PC2-8888. I believe they are both based on the same IC's, so it comes down to whatever is cheaper.

I _think_ it uses the same as the OCZ PC2-8800, in which case its D9GMH

EDIT: Also bear in mind that Kemp linked you to the 2gb version of that kit. 1gb should be mass cheaper (but prolly still xpensiv)

my 1GB Kingston PC8500 kit (Micron D9 GKX) is fully stable (not just for benchmarks) up to 1248MHz 5-5-5-15 with 2.3V :)

(tested for over 12 hours with memtest)

very nice mate, sounds like good memory. i just looked up the dominator memory and the 2gb kit here in the states is $659. that is just ridiculous even if it is the fastest ram available. im thinking about upgrading to something that will let me hit 3ghz though, this ocz just isnt fast enougg for me.

teamgroup make some nice ram too, all their xtreem modules use micron D9 GMH chips.

i bought one of the cheaper xtreem 2GB kits (PC5300 3-3-3-8), i haven't fully tested it yet (busy lately) but it easily does DDR1000 4-4-4-8 with around 2.25V

the crucial kit (in sig) i'm currently testing for a review is doing 1150 5-5-5-15 with 2.45V fully stable

What's the diff between the GKX and the GMH? Is one better than the other? I'm very interested in purchasing a kit with these IC's in hopes of being able to get my lil desktop out of it's sub 3ghz slump.

Any idea if THIS uses D9's?

The differences between the chips are the manufacturer certified speeds and the price

GKX=DDR2-800 Cas5 1.8V

GMH=DDR2-667 Cas5 1.8V

the GKX cost quite a bit more then GMH, but when binned effectively, GMH can reach similar speeds (that's why i bought the lower speed (and cheaper) TeamGroup kit)

i haven't heard of any other types of chips (elpidea etc.) being used for DDR2-1066 kits. ;)

according to the "IC Inquiry Thread" on the corsair forums that kit does use Micron D9's :)

reps for that when i get home mate, that info was much appreciated. i may give that corsair set a shot then, maybe it will give me the 3ghz that im lookin 4 if my mobo feels up to the challenge.
