What's next?

So for most 2014 is the start of a fresh year including new builds & upgrades ect..

For me it's a upgrade year, while it sucks being self employed not as much money as I'd hoped but hell at least it's not the dole! I'll be saving for my rig.

GA-990FXA-UD7
Corsair CS750
FX-8350
R9 270X (Windforce)
& possibly the Switch 810.

What plans do we all have this year?

maybe a case upgrade, other than that i plan on sticking with my rig through 2014.
this will mainly be a year of peripherals for me, 144hz monitor on the way, steelseries rival on the way, gsync module asap, racing setup, oculus rift when the 1080p version releases.

I'll probably get an R9 290 in the coming months. I was looking at getting a GTX 780, but the 290 is the better buy, plus the Sapphire Tri-X version is looking pretty damn good.

I was also looking at getting a 1440p monitor, but I think I'll hold off another while. Hopefully there'll be some version of/alternative to G-Sync that doesn't require one to have an Nvidia GPU, be it from AMD or whoever.

Aside from the new GPU, I'll be sitting on the majority of what I have until 2015 at the least.

I've already upgraded my graphics card, but I may upgrade my motherboard and CPU later down the year. I might also get rid of my 19" monitor and replace it with another U2410 for dual 24" monitor goodness.

Only thing i would upgrade for me is my GPU. 7950 is fast but the cooler, Twin Frozer3, is so goddamn loud even at 45% fan speed when it usually gets up to 60%.

Other then that I'm saving up to buy my first truck. So not much upgrade room for me.

Just my GPU, waiting on OCUK to get stock an ship it to me.

I don't really need to upgrade anything else but if I do it will most likely be a 2700k or a 3370k, whichever one I can get cheapest at the time.
If I do get anything else it will probably be a m-ATX mobo and a m-ATX case.

Not really anything I want or need to upgrade though, maybe a new AX or RM series Corsair PSU for nothing more but to make my rig that little bit quieter. The loudest thing in my rig is my PSU so it would be nice to have one where the fan doesn't spin unless on load.

I can vouch for the Corsair AX760. Bought one recently, and its fan doesn't even spin up beyond a certain load.

Gotta start saving hard, want to have this little lot bought and built by June...

Are you sure you want to go with 3 TVs though? Wouldn't you be better off going for a large IPS panel or 3 Dell UltraSharps.

I may drop in a smaller power supply, the corsair HX 1000 is still working fine but stupid overkill since i dropped sli and i want full modular.

And perhaps another ssd for my games.

2nd ref 780
update all fans to AF and SP
Probably drop in another 8gb vengeance pro

mechanical keyboard at some point.

more RAM
Another 280x (when the damn crypto people stop buying them)
Get started on a 6 core intel build depending on how well my cpu does with Star Citizen
Finish and sell my LAN rig (athlon x4, prolly a 650 ti soon as the 640 isn't mine)
fix my poor ol' file server
replace my seidon 120
moar monitors

Expensive year up ahead :3.

For me it's another 780 Ti for SLI and moving to watercooling my CPU a little closer to summer and a few little things here and there but nothing major, Vanity bits mainly i.e fan grills etc... :)

From most important to least:

Complete WC loop: Currently cpu only
New keyboard: Currently using the Cyborg v5, want better (advice appreciated)
4k monitor: Dell 28" hopefully on release/funds available
Third r9 290: Depending on performance with 4k monitor should I be able to get one

Put my 2700K and 780 under water and go full modular PSU with braided cables. I wanna start my own 350D build log.

Hopefully get a mechanical gaming keyboard for my birthday.

Got a lot to save up for so the computing side of things has to stay on the side, at the end of the year or start of next I'm looking at a new set of wheels so being able to afford that is a must.

SSD is on the shopping list, got some Christmas money left which is being thrown at a Samsung 840 Evo 250GB in the near future. other than that, maybe a PSU or case upgrade but that's unlikely.
