What's going on with the forums?

Well it looks ghey. Why set the width to a fixed 1000px? I can't see a logical reason for it given that it was on auto previously.

Now I can see an advertisement, which is the reason I'm guessing.

It get that there might be a need for advertisements but it really sucks on 2560x1440. The forum is 1/3 of the screen.

Yeh it's not good for the larger resolutions . It's not bad at 1920 x 1200, but I preferred the wider view

Yup, it just started showing for me too.

I know I'm new but it's a VERY POOR show when over 50% of the screen is adverts.

just press spacebar one when on the screen and the whole ad disappears

but yeah, i wee bit too big i think, i know people have to make money in this world, but i think 40% of the screen may be a little bit too much.

But at the same time, it is something i think i will come to enjoy seeing as long as it changes every once in a while

I think the main thing i like is i can not click on them by mistake and be taken somewhere else

how about using the ctrl key and scrolling with your mouse wheel?? i use firefox and IE and doing that the first time has set it for all of the forum. much easier to read on a big screen that way

It's not really about the size of the 'middle' section, it's the ratio between the size of the middle section and the font size of the text. You can, of course, enlarge the middle section to how it used to be, but then the text enlarges to an inordinate size.
