So I am rebuilding a semi new PC. I will be using my older Asus Maximus Gene z Gen3 board (just because I have it).

MB: Asus Maximus Gene-z Gen 3
CPU: i5 3570k
RAM: 8gb (later 16gb) Corsair vengeance Pro 2133
GPU: Nvidia 770 EVGA Classified 4gb (I am avoiding dual GPU solutions and need at least 3-4gb of vram)
HDD: Seagate 2tb hybrid 8gb cache (main storage)
SSD: 256gb (haven't decided on manufacturer) Will have OS and other important programs.
Sound card: Xonar STX
PSU: Corsair 760i
Case: Bitfenix Prodigy M

I don't feel the need to get a new mobo mainly because I want to stick with mATX and I feel no reason to get an 1150 i5 (I don't need an i7 becaue this will be a gaming machine).

RAM that fast is a bit overkill for gaming as you won't see any performance increase over 1866MHz. You could save some money there.

What do you need 4GB VRAM for?

I vote for a Samsung 840 Pro/Evo SSD. The Pro series are incredibly reliable and the Evo offer a lot of bang for your buck too.

You could go with an AX760 non-i. The non-i PSUs are made by Seasonic where the AX760i is a Flextronics unit. If you don't need Corsair link, it just a waste of money getting the i version anyway. You could easily get away with an RM650 if you want silence, Tom has recently made a video on this:

Agreed that the Bitfenix mATX cases aren't all that great, there's way too much compromise for my liking (if you use mechanical drives you lose your main intake, if you use an optical drive you lose the option of AIO cooling and SLI, etc) and it just lacks proper airflow.

Have you had a look at the Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 and the Corsair 350D?

To answer your questions. I am going with 2133 because along with gaming I enjoy benching and squeezing as much out as possible. I have used 1600mhz and bumped to 2133 in the past and saw a more consistent and higher bench score over all. My not be much but I like getting as much as possible.

I NEED 3-4 gb for gaming because 2gb aint cutting it any more. BF3, BF4, Crysis 3, Metro Last Light, Skyrim, and a few other I cannot name right now CAN use more than 2gb. The advantage to more vRAM is more detail at farther distances, future proof, 4k, 1600p or 1440p. Believe it or not, if you use a HD texture pack in Skyrim you can see the difference between a 2gb card and a 3 or 4 especially when looking at large pieces of land.

I have not fully decided on the PSU yet and I am switching it to a 760w Seasonic fully modular. It's better to have to much for a few reasons, one it's less strain on the PSU thus less heat resulting in less noise, and longevity. Also future proofing for any upgrades I may do in the future.

And case I am also in the air about. I am looking for something small with superb build quality.

The one thing I don't do is just slap pats together because "they are fast" I have a reason for the speeds, ram, cpu, and PSU I get. I just want a second eye to see in case something could be recommended. Like the SSD you mentioned.

What about a 350D for your case with window? And I'd stick with the 760i and put some cables of your color choice with it and I second the Samsung ssd's

I like the 350D but it just feels cheap. I am more leaning to the smaller Cosmos case but I'd prefer a case designed for mATX so I can keep that compact design. Also Seasonic has a fully modular PSU with different color cables.

i was under the impression that the Flextronic was a server grade PSU. i think jonnyGURU said on this forum it was as good or better a unit

I don't know yet. I don't mind though spending the extra for a better PSU. I tend to stay with Corsair and Seasonic.

And a quick edit on the GPU I will be getting. I will be getting the 4gb Gigabyte Windforce OC card.
