Hey guys as I am sure you are aware, the new AMD Radeon 7990 just droped today. To make this short, I am going to have about $1050 saved up at the end of the semester specifically for a new GPU to fit the rest of my build, and an upgrade from my current 7870.

I can not seem to decide between; 1) the new 7990, 2) GTX Titan, 3)2x 680/7970, 4)780.

I will be running 3x1080p (http://www.amazon.com/Acer-H236HL-bid-23-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B00AZMLIDQ) monitors for a grand total of 5760x1080 so thats why I "need" all this horsepower.

Please post your suggestion and reasoning below, and thanks for the help. :)

Rig spec(as of now):
Intel i7 3930k@4.6gh
Gigabyte Windforce 7870
ASRock x79 Extreme 11
16GB G.Skill Ripjaw 2133mhz
Silencer MKII 950w
H100i(4x Noctua NF-F12 PWM)
Caselabs Magnum TH10(will be loop later)

this is a very dificult answer, why do you whant a gpu may i ask, depending on it we could answer, for rendering 2x 7970 or 2x 680 for gaming ill go with a gtx titan, theres a few models so idk ill go for it if i had that money titan all the way, theres more support

A little rendering, I play a lot with autoCAD, inventor, and Mathamatic 8, but other wise just for gaming and any process that makes use of the openGL or Cuda.

in that case 2 x GTX 680 it has cuda 3.0, i dont know about the other mother boards but if your using cuda twice is better, just like blond twins if u get my drift xP

damn already voted and titan has cuta 3.5

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CUDA

7990 should have a 4.0 ? lets wait o.0, if its 3.5 ill go for the titan unless it has more threads, im assuming you got an i7 already and SSD

Ikr, that's my bad for prematurely making the poll and then remembering the 780s are supposed to come out the same time I'm looking into a new card XD

The Titan is completely pointless for gaming, but tbh an SLi/CF setup is quite pointless as well. if you want to use this for work as well get two 680s/670s (tbh the 670s are pretty much as good as a 680 for 100$ less), those will outperform the Titan, the 690 and the 7990 by far.
About the 780, all i know is that it will be using GK110 which is quite epic, i guess that is the Titan LE that has been rumored about. But that card will be expensive, around 600$.

The TITAN is a total waste of money. $1000 for a card that about 20% slower than $800 pair of 680s. Don't get a Titan unless you can get one for $800.

As someone who often plays devil's advocate, thats a 2v1 fight, on an even playing field, 2 titans would beat 2 680s, but I get your point. I think I am going to wait a tad longer, save a little more, and get 2x 780s

Personally I'd go neither and go with SLI GTX 670's. Especially considering there's little difference between the 670 and the 680, and you'll definitely leave smaller of a chunk in your wallet.

Two reasonably clocked 670s will be the same as a 690.

Easily the cheapest option tbh.

+1 for this one.

Me personaly, i dont recomend anything, but i can quote Ryan Shrout:
He recomend the Titan over a 690 (which will be basicly the same as 2x 680) on multi monitor setups. The reasonig for that is the smoothness of animation. Yes the 690 is 15-20% faster, but even if the average fps would be higher in most cases the Titan will give you a smoother animation.
