Run Winamp with classic skin under Windows. Under Linux it is Amarok for KDE/qt installs and Exaile for Gnome/gtk. Exaile is a close second to Amarok imo and eliminates the qt and Gnome waste.
Wow! After expecting nothing for Xmas my parents actually got me an 80gb iPod, not quite big enough for my entire collection but I definitely enjoy the thought behind the gift. The perfect replacement for my little Shuffle!
I am using windows media player because it was readily available and most of files can be read by it. And also I like using it because it was easy to download and it was user friendly.
