So i really cant decide what keyboard to buy with my pc. Heres a list of what im looking at
Razer Deathstalker
Microsoft Sidewinder X4
Gigabyte K-8100

This is my list of what im open up to. I like the green backlighing on the Deathstalker but i dont know if i would like the keyboard. My favorite color is blue and my second is green and then orange. Im getting the haf xm and putting blue fans in it anyways but i do like to mix things up.

With a budget like that, I'd definitely say get mechanical.

Maybe the Corsair K90? or K60? Coolermaster have a fair few mechanical keyboards out nowadays that are well priced.

Typing on mechanical keys is just a whole new experience really. I wouldn't go back to non-mech now.
They're just better to type on overall, and considering you'll probably use it every day, it's worth spending more on it if it makes the experience more user friendly.

Non mechanical check out the Logitech G510. They're around $90 and I think they're the best non mechanical board on the market. They have all kinds of cool features and adjustable backlighting where you can choose your own colors.

For mechanical keyboards check out the Cooler Master Quickfire boards. Cool looking and seem to be pretty solid judging by reviews.

Key type is going to be very personal. I like the MX Cherry Blues best for both typing and gaming. Most everybody prefers them for typing but theyre very love/hate for gaming cause they take a little getting used to. Their point of actuation is kind high so it has a little learning curve for double tapping in some games. When I first started using this Black Widow, I had this issue in Batman AC trying to quickfire Batman's weapons but after a little bit of time, I have no problem at all.

Theyre noisy though so if youve got people going to be around you a lot like at work or in the next room watching tv or something, it will probably get on their nerves.

I dont want mechanical. Im going to have my pc in my livingroom and there are other people around. I will be buying a house in the next 6 months though and ill have an office. I might go fir the sidewinder because its cheap and i have family who works for microsoft. Also it would be cheap and easy to replace if it breaks. Once i have my office im going to buy a coolermaster keyboard.

MX Browns arent loud at all... Blacks and reds are quiet if you dont smash them. I can never go back to using a membrane keyboard after using MX switches. Its like typing on mush. I cant believe people would rather type on a high end Logitech than a nice MX blue switch... clack, clack, clack!

I dont blame ya. Mechanical keyboards are cool and all that but I think theyre a little overrated. The keyboard purists will look down their noses at ya but there is nothing wrong with a good membrane dome keyboard. Like I said, I really love my Logitech G510 and used it for a long time and still switch it in and out with my Black Widow for a change of pace.

Mechanical keyboards do feel better for typing and due to their weight usually feel more sturdy but they can get old. Ive tried Cherry MX Browns and Reds before and didnt really like them and didnt think they were that much better than a good membrane like the G510.

At the end of the day, its just a keyboard. People can get a little too carried away with this hobby sometimes. :D

I dont want to get mech from the start so I've decided. I want to buy rubber dome from the start and once i have my office ill buy a Coolermaster Storm Trigger MX Brown. Also, do any of you like the Storm Sirus? Been thinking of one instead if a Siberia V2.

I have a Corsair K90, its really good, but i would rather get blue / brown switches.
What about the logitech G710?

I just bought the ozone strike and I love it. Its very similar with the steelseries 7G, but with a better price. It has black switches tho. Check it out, you might like it ^^

A lot of membrane keyboards are louder than mech boards (non blue switches). Also the noise from a mech board is such a more soothing sound too.

Go for a Gigabyte Osmium or something that Pexon shared.

Yup, You can put O rings on the switches too so that it doesn't bottom out if people compain.

I would really stick to the true Taiwanese keyboards. ie. filco, ducky ect.

Yeah this makes them pretty much silent, as long as you don't type super hard.

Those keyboards are above budget though.

The x4 is VERY soft, personaly hate using it with the low profile keys + it being so soft, nothing wrong with full key hight membrane keyboards tho as they tend to be a little firmer and usualy dont feel mushy.
