What is the highest temperature you have ever reached? (CPU)

With the aid of a pencil into a fan I managed to get a 1.5ghz P4 (Overclocked to 1.75) up to a moderately suicidal temperature of 95 degrees C.

Whats your record?

Hey Monga! Welcome to the forums.

The highest I ever reached was like 35 degrees celsius; on LOAD!

I have no idea on how it is so cold...

I think I got 102c playing with an original 3.2 prescott on air, but i was actually more worried about the power supply when i started prime at 4.2ghz :D

LOL Why :o

Haha I don't like to let my CPUs hit those kind of temperatures, I don't want to thermally degrade them if I can help it.

I....erm....forgot.

The core let out a nice big puff of smoke and looked quite shafted afterwards. Funnily enough I took it back to the shop I got it from, complained it was DOA and got a new one :p

Just set my highest with 2*SMP @ 90% usage, HyperThreading on, and PC in more or less 'silent mode': 70/70/73/70. Those are the maxes from RealTemp.

I have never actually tried to burn one up but on a really hot summer day on my old Athlon Thunderbird 800mhz I think I hit about 80C or something close then it shut down on me.
