What is the Future of my 2011 system?
Rampage 4E with intel 3930.
Its a fast PC and don't think the new stuff will be that far ahead besides power saving but I am a sucker for getting the new tech and building new rigs for myself and also recently (2 years ago) decided I am not selling any my old systems I grow attached to them hahah but is a lot of money.
I guess many people are in the same boat, What will you do?
At the moment I guess I won't truly know until intel releases the new CPU's.

2011 Just seems short lived only 18 months old since the 2011 didn't see any CPU refreshes only newer "top" CPUs be released.
I pretty positive the expensive mobo and CPU will become old obsolete tech next month, Just don't like it

Well it'll be a long time before that 3930k will be considered "slow", if ever.

Well a 4770k is slightly faster in some cases, but about the same overall (depending on overclocks).

Of course there is also the forthcoming 4930k later this year..

Slow wouldnt be my first thought,thinking sb-e 3930k.
Ivy-E is only some months ahead,if you fell the urge to upgrade your cpu.

Like Kilo said, Ivy E isn't far away. It's bound to be an improvment over SB-E, even if it's only a small one. Possibly new motherboards, maybe even a new chipset for them as well.

Hopefully intel doesn't screw up the IHS in Ivy-e. It runs hotter naturally so i would assume they need to have a better IHS.
