What is the best PSU for my system?

Hi, over the past few months I've upgraded from an ageing but still serviceable P4 system to my current set-up which appears in my sig below.

However, a few parts came from the legacy system -- namely the DVD drive, the PSU and four of the HDDs.

I have also seemingly gone mad and bought a second Gigabyte GTX460OC graphics card to run in SLI.

So far, everything is run stock, which includes the cooling, but now my biggest concern is can the PSU run all of the above (seven drives and six fans!!) and two graphics cards and still come out alive?

Are there any bottlenecks or other problems waiting around the corner if I stick with what I have?

Does anyone have any recommendations on the PSU? All suggestions welcome.

Cheers

Steve

Mate i have 2x GTX460 (both FAH overclocked) i5 750 at 3800Mhz (overclock) 6gig XMS 1600Mhz Corsair memory (WAY TO MUCH BUT k)

3x 140mm fan 2x DvD drive SSD and a HDD ,

and this has all be running on a Coolermaster 600w perfectly fine (darn it never thought i would say this) ,

so looking at you're previous PSU (that is IMHO much better) you are more then fine !!

And I now have that same rig running fine on a 650W Antec

Id only upgrade the PSU if you are going to overclock, but you really need to get yourself some decent cooling first tbh. A stock cooler with your kit is abit like an AMD fanboy at an Nvidia convention - massively out of place.

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I feel a bit foolish about the stock cooling. I know it's just not enough for any overclocking -- and I do plan to do so in the future. I don't have any experience with that though so I probably just use the Intel XTU that came with the motherboard to hold my hands. Also, I'm likely to go with the Corsair H70 for cooling just cos I like the looks but finding it in Hong Kong is a big problem.

And because I've got the Corsair thing going on in my case, perhaps an AX850 PSU will suit my needs. Hopefully, everything is fairly future proof as I'm not looking to upgrade again for another few years yet!

Still it's good to know that my HX620 will handle the graphics cards fine even though I've had it a few years...

Cheers

honestly you should just get a 1000PSU from a reputable comany. you may not use the full potential YET but it will be a better investment in the long run.

speaking of which i need to replace my BFG 1000w

. time to get a corsair 1000!
