What GPU to pare with my Core i5-650

Hey guys, I'm looking for some advise.

I'm not really not that knowledgeable when it comes to building PC's, Yes I did build my own quite a while ago and I do like to upgrade now and again but I need your help.

I mostly use my PC for gaming, music, movies and a bit of graphics. I'm currently running a 4870 pared with a core i5 650. I don't want to be going into the market and spending on an expensive GPU which is going to be held back by my processor. I'm looking for the rite balance. I run games at 1920x1080. The only game my PC struggles with to be honest is BF3 and Crysis. I'm not too fussed about running the games on the Highest graphical settings either. all i'm after is achieving between 50-70 fps on medium settings at 1920x1080.

I'm currently looking at going down the Nvidia root and buying myself a 560 but I'm not sure if my CPU would be a bottleneck? Also is the TI branded cards worth it or is that just a sales gimmick?

Thanks

Would it be a good idea to buy a quad core first, i'm not sure?

I read an interesting article a few days ago...

The frame increase in BC2 is unbelievable. I'm thinking is it the same story for BF3? Maybe I should get my Core i5-650 on ebay and purchase a Core i5-760? hhhmmm. Kinda wish I invested in a Z68 chipset rather than H55. I suppose I could update my Motherboard and CPU for around £280 minus £90 if I sold my current CPU.

Decisions.

Nvidia GTX 560 Ti, it's a great overclocker carrying Ti label for that reason and maby more. I imagine they'll suit well, both your i5 and this GPU are mid range chips for gaming, balance

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I'm getting tired of playing BF3 on the lowest possible settings just to run the thing at 1920x1080, it looks like a rite minger. Hopefully i'd be able to crank it up to at least medium/high with a 560 and still achieve reasonable FPS. Also I could finally get round to completing Crysis Warhead on high settings.

I ran a motherboard like yours. twas the p7h55 M Pro. Nice boards, I think it's good value. I ran the i5 750, was a noob overclocker and got 3.8Ghz rarely crashing with a COOLERMASTER HyperTX3 cooler, did get very hot, dunno why it crashed from noobness, also old Crysis 1 code. I used ASUS Turbo software for it. I had problems using FRAPS recoding, playback wasn't syncing sound with video.
