im still undecided between a 570 due to the price drops, or a 7850, but. will either of these work well with my tv? (over hdmi in stereoscopic).

EDIT: the only gaming i would do on it would be driving games using a 360 controller,

if its 1920 x 1080 then a 570 would be fine

aah, i thought the nvidia cards wer dvi only for 3d. will the 570 output sound over hdmi like my 5770 does tho?

EDIT: just looking At the nvidia site, it says i need a $40 licence to use 3d on my tv....

i know its kind of a grey area, most people on here would just buy a 3d monitor. but being sat next to this 47" led tv, it is hard to justify

EDIT: ok, been doing a little research and it seems that using the amd setup is a lot less complicated, i just need any gpu 6xxx upwards, and i need to buy some software for about £50.

Not sure about nvidia, but with AMD cards you have to overscale to make them actually fit the edges of the screen. Even my 7950 cant reach the borders of my 32 inch screen without being scaled

I use a passive AMD 6450 GPU to run my 3d 58" Tv with no issue

So I see not problem with using any of the AMD 6xxx or 7xxx cards

I use my gtx560ti to run in my 3d monitor, but it is only 1850x1600, and It is exactly enough, I would go with a gtx570, and yes you need to but the nvidia 3d software if you wanna play in your 3DTV

But it is cheaper than buying the nvidia 3d glasses

just about any card as long will do you. best bang for buck will probably be a 560ti or 570 if you can get one cheap.

i ran 3d on my 560ti for a while, only had issues when i was running bf3 (not enough v-ram) but yu could get a 2gb one or a 570 will have enough
