what do you do with old fans

Keep them in a bag, might always come in handy :p

Can also get USB cables for them and use them as deskfans for summertime... or to air out your smelly room... or fun lighting effects for that ultimate 'I decorated my room to look like a bar' look :)

+1

I made a wooden fan rack for a friend, Cut out all the screw holes etc...I put 9 of his fans on the rack, Sealed it up nicely, Extensive cable management and now it's a suspended ceiling fan for when summer hits ^_^

It pretty much looks identical to this pre made one but wooden, Painted black and with a single thick sleeved cable coming out of the back for the power :) -

I have mine all stashed away....................just in case I need them :)

AND NICE ONE DICEHUNTER !

shelf for a bit, then forums, then ebay.

I've got a pair of mutant super slow SP120's from a mod sitting on my shelf looking cool. Then a box in my attic with the two SP120L's off my H100i and the stock case fans out of my 550D which will stay there until I sell the components.

All my other old fans, 9x Scythe GT's, 12+x Corsair Air Series, 3x Cooler Masters i've sold on ebay and on here. Always gone over halfway towards paying for my new set. I like to keep a couple around in cache and i've given a few to my friends for their builds occasionally.

Provided they still work I usually donate them to Friends or families PCs, just like most lower cost components.

If a laptop is ever retired in my family the components come to me and upgrade whoever has a computer needs it, eg spare HDDs are used as a backup, old RAM is used to upgrade any other computer that can use it. I never let a component go to waste if somebody can use it.
