What are you currently listening to

My favourite band their first album since their guitarist (and main songwriter) died in 2016, and it's everything I hoped it to be. The album is written by the drummer and twin brother of the deceased band member, so it's a very impactful album. Naturally, I have the entire record on repeat. This particular song stands out to me

Parkway Drive also have had death happen in their circle of life and in there song the Colour of leaving they reference 'Gone With the Wind' which also happens to be architects song. I found that very fitting and a nod to each other.

I don't really like architect, but they are very popular so they aren't bad. Just not my taste. I find the vocals to be bad but that's just me. I like some bands my friends don't, all preference.

While I predominately listen to classic heavy metal like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and soundtracks. Ratt will always be my guilty pleasure

This is some good stuff to have in the background while playing Civilization-style games, or maybe building stuff in Cities Skylines:

I've never really gotten into Parkway Drive myself, but I do really enjoy their music myself. I didn't know about the Colour of leaving, but I'll listen to that in a bit!

I can definitely see why people don't like Architects. Sam's vocals are very unique, and definitely an acquired taste. I think you'll either love them or hate them. I personally always 'kinda liked' Architects, but last year I really discovered them as I went through some personal stuff.

Holy crap Burro Banton :O I thought he was dead lol. He had a couple of bangers in the 90s.

Was probably my fave. If you like Drum and Bass then try as hard as you can to find Omni Trio - Music For The New Millennium. If you can't track it down then give me a shout and I will put it on a stick or something and send it to you. It's a very rare album, so you won't want to pay the several hundred pounds it changes hands for, but it's the best D&B album ever, IMO.

Managed to find a questionably quality Youtube rip of the album, really old school, enjoying it a lot. Thanks for the heads up!

I have flac if you need it...

Yeah it's amazing. Goes from the fast paced stuff to the more chilled. Renegade Snares is probably the best D&B tune ever as well :D

haha that was sooo bad. I could have put it on a 10sec intro loop and it would still sound like the rest of the song :D :D :D, I scrubbed through it waiting for the beat to change, bass to drop, or tempo to switch. Even waited for his vocals to swap octave or key.. nope. ^_^

Need For Mirrors' new album is really pleasant, kinda reminds me of Blu Mar Ten but not quite. :D

There is something about Female metal singers I just find so kick ass. And the way this singer flips her vocals just melds with the guitar riffs.

Found this by mistake and I just love it. Especially the solo. So easy to play I have already picked it up :)

Amon Amarth - One thousand Burning Arrows

NOTE:if you don't like metal, as some people vehemently hate on it, then probably don't want to listen.

Beautiful song and has quickly become my favorite recently and definitely favorite by Amon Amarth. Usually, only listen to them every once in a while, but man lately been nonstop. These guys are so good.

also @Warchild, normally dislike any female singers(except Avril Lavine for some reason LOL childhood nostalgia I guess? :D ) but damn that song Let it Burn was pretty good.

An underrated Black Sabbath song imo

and I'll throw in this Black Sabbath inspired doom metal classic for free since it's my first post here, this is the first band I ever saw live, still vividly remember the chaos of knee breaking bass, vintage Nazi porn in the background and the dense pot smoke suffocating my 14yo mind.

Metal isn't my usual jam but always particularly liked the early stuff that still had its clear blues & psychedelic rock roots, and some of the doom/stoner metal that it led to.

I'm guessing tons of people have heard of Leo Moracchioli (guy does INSANELY good metal covers of, well, everything). I'm going to buy this guy's music. Never thought I'd say this, but there's a Taylor Swift song I just NEED to be blaring in my car:

His cover of Toto's Africa went viral awhile back, but it's worth repeating due to sheer brilliance:

Bonus Die Antwoord cover (don't like them, but Leo works magic on this one). Best Halloween party video ever!
