Some very interesting facts indeed. I listened for 8871 minutes (almost 150 hours) to Spotify this year, my top 5 genres are Screamo, Metalcore, Pop Punk, Punk Christmas(?), Post-post-harcore (not a typo), in that order.

Also noticed my pride and joy, my playlist called 'Epic Songs!! \m/', now has 926 songs in it. Gonna tackle 1000 first thing in 2015 :lol:
 
Errhh don't know where Spotify got that and idk what Suicide Silence does these days but back when Mitch was in it they were just a Hardcore/Deathcore band? :p

Post-hardcore is usually not that heavy at all. Although really good, pretty much my favourite genre cause of bands like Silverstein (seeing them in April whoooo), The Used and Hawthorne Heights.

Funny thing is I mostly listen to their older songs (OCD, Price of Beauty, YOLO etc.) too!
SS kind of is the only deathcore-band I listen to though! So I guess Of Mice and Men (I listened to them quite a lot) had an influence on the results there

There's a song in the playlist Spotify created for me for 2015 though... Holy damn it's amazing!

 
I'd say OM&M is Screamo, Asking Alexandria and Memphis May Fire metalcore :)

I love Forever The Sickest Kids! I listen to Chin Up Kid quite a lot if I'm in a sad mood!
 
I'm afraid I must disagree haha. The first two OM&M albums were definitely metalcore and pretty much the same style as MMF and AA back then, though the latter have moved on to a slightly more Rock & Roll ish sound now :p

If you want screamo check out Alesana ;) Great band too! If you ever have ~2 hours spare go read the story of The Emptiness on Wattpad and then listen to the album in its entirety while you have the lyrics with you! It's amazing!

I guess that's true! I always saw OM&M as a screamo band, especially during their 'The Flood' days :lol:

I'll be sure to read that story and then listen to their album coming week ;)
