I have just about finished upgrading my system. :yumyum: In the past month or so ive bought a 9800 gx2, an ASUS Triton 79 amazing, a gigabyte ep35c-ds3r board (which takes ddr2 and ddr3 so i dont have to upgrade my ram yet) and my last purchase as of today is a qx9650 so as you can see im trying to get a nice system together. I will be trying to understand the overclocking threads over the next few days as ive been trying to for the past few weeks in prep for these events to take place. Hopefully i will be happier with this setup than i am with my current one. :wavey:

Make sure you stick an additional fan over the GX2/northbridge area, as they can get very hot indeed!

oooops

i put coretemp 0.99 on to see what temps i was running and it reported about 45-48 each core. Then i updated the bios on my board and AAAARRRGGGGHHHHHHHH my temps now running at 62-70 idle. Any ideas what i can do to sort this out???

yeah well everything was fine ie hs&f and paste and such so was worried but when turned machine on this morning everything back to normal and now runs no hotter than 60deg c under about 60-70% load. i dont know if this is normal for this type of chip. Also little update i have the new c1 revision of this chip ie: Intel® Core™2 Extreme Processor QX9650, 12M Cache, 3.00 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB OEM C1 Stepping S-SPEC SLAWN Batch L803A536.

Cheers for the help again tox and now im going to be looking at OC'ing it a bit to see what i can get. If you remember i was only getting about 8500+- 3dmarks.... heeheehee well no more.

help

im trying to post dif scores in dif places and the only place i can put anything is in my own posts. Im trying to put 3dmark06 scores and superpi scores to show what i got and i can do it... Any help or ideas???

Just in case im not allowed to post anywhere else my 3dmark06 score= 16544

and my superPi for 1M = 13.047 secs...

With my stuff and in any case are these respectable scores??? I havent oc'ed my stuff at all it is all running stock.
