hi.

have decided to get a webcamera so i can keep an eye on my bike outside but have no experience with them in the past but perhaps anyone in here does ?

found one that was cheap and looked like it would be easy to modify for my needs.

its a deltaco web-310mp but their inst much info about it.

CIF format 352*288 pixels 1/7 cmos usb analong mic

im not interested in seeing faces only if someone is messing with my bike and does anyone know how good picture i can expect at night ?

dont have much light outside.

Regards

Raven

Don't buy an uber cheap camera, the resolution is absolute crap.

I actually recently downgraded from the Logi Orbit MP robotic camera and the picture quality was amazing on that thing. The one I replaced it with, the Logi QuickCam STX, has no where near the image quality that the Orbit did.

Just my 2 cents, but try and invest in a decent camera if you wan't to actually be able to tell when your bike is getting stolen ;)

resolution is not a problem aslong as its possible to se if someone is there as i can get my shoes on grab my little bat and be on the outside yelling in less then 20seconds and money is a big issue at the moment.

also size matters alot as its illegal to have surveillance cameras as im going to have so the more discreet the better.

but have a couple of days before the money comes in so will look for more but doubt i will find much :/

due to firehazards and rules i cant park it inside.

if i did i would loose the apartment in 3 days flat and i would rather go out and kick some ass than loose the apartment.

btw before someone mentions the police, they are nothing but a joke and can easily take way over 1 hour before they get their thumbs out their a****

What about one that works in pitch black conditions. Now those i can doa very good price on :D link here but the sample image isnt working :-( Ill get it hooked up tonight and put my bike outside the window so you can see if it will work etc if thats of any use.

looks abit expensive but interesting nonetheless.

how big is the camera house without the foot ?

do you know if its waterproof ?

what is the shipping for it to sweden ?

how far does the infrared led manage ?

is around 12-15 meters from the kitchen window to where i park my bike.

thanks for the link PV will se what i do but will take a look on a couple of sites similar to ebay tonight.

ok came over a webcamera but have one problem.

its supposed to have a microphone but their is no microphone cable and the programs i tried detects no microphone.

tried amcap which came with the camera, webcamxp and activewebcam.

i found pictures of the camera with 2 cables, one usb and a microphone cable.

also found one store saying it has a microphone which connects to the soundcard.

im starting to believe i have received the wrong camera.

any input on this before i send away my harsh mail about it ?

Sounds like ya got the wrong one. It would be clear as day if there's supposed to be a microphone mini-jack for it. Send the harsh mail away!

if i were you i would send it back, get the money, hit a hardware store and get yourself a cheap motion-sensing light, then pic up any old webcam that has a fairly fast refresh/frame rate on it. night-time problem solved

i already have a camera im going to replace it with which is based on a 1.3mp cmos sensor.

its supposed to handle macro too which suits me fine.

motion sensing light would not work here, live in an apartment so am very limited on what i can do.

got an half ok half weird answer but took an easy way out instead.

sold the camera today for 21€ i bought it for 23€ and bought a new camera which was way better for 19€

Sounds like ya came out ahead then, good one!

What did you end up getting?

the same damn camera  but can do makro and take much better pictures at higher resolution, up to 1.3mp instead of 0.3mp

the makro thing is mostly why i wanted it.
