Didn't know where to put this so stuck it here.

I have bought a new Creative Live! Cam Socialize HD AF.

It works fine with Skype on my laptop.

It works fine with the Creative software on desktop however on Skype I get this:

Why is it doing this on my desktop and how can i fix it?

I can't see it being a hardware issue as it works fine with the provided software.

I also cant see it being a Skype issue as it works fine with Skype on my laptop.

Looks like a classic case of providing a resolution that the computer thinks is half or double.

Thinking of it in quadrants, instead of displaying:

A

B

C

D

It's showing:

AB

CD

... cept the B & D aren't in the windows viewing area.

Is there a way that i can fix it? It works fine in all other applications, just Skype

Anyone know what i can do? annoying me as it is only Skype on my new rig that it is playing up on, works fine on every other program on my new rig and even Skype on my laptop!!

Still cant figure this out. Is it a compatibility issue that Skype has with some other hardware than the webcam as it works on my laptop and also works on desktop on other webcam software

I need help with this

Just noticed this call is still outstanding.

Admittedly, although I can see what the thing is doing, I know absolutely nothing about webcams/skype.

However, a quick googleage came up with suggestions of a problem that sounds like yours, relating to nVidia drivers. (half the picture being black etc.) Rolled back drivers and everyone's happy.

Searching for help on Skype's site is really a better idea.
