Water in my socket

Hi!

Recently I've dismantled my Mach I and I've noticed a few drops of water in and arround my CPU socket. I installed the heatpad at the back but the Mach 1 doesnt have any connectors for it so it doesn't work.

What can I do to counter the condense? I absolutely sealed everything off so im a bit baffled.

There were even some slight signs of corrosion on my board

Hi mate - you could smear some vaseline or DC5 into the cpu socket and on the rear of the board - this would certainly help prevent condensation in the future.

Yep - if you smear some dilectric compound into the socket (not so it's spewing over the top as that overkill) you sould be fine.

I found this with my expert board and found using neoprene gasket instead of seal string on the back plate goes a long way to relieving this problem.

Newer boards tend to be more porous.
