Water cooliing first timer.

I am going to be watercooling my rig soon and i wondered if you guys would through a few opinions for me. I already have my rad rez pump and water block picked out, and i know i wanna use compression fitting. Here is my question, what diameter compressions do i want with what diameter for tubing??? I was thinking using 5/8 tubing and 7/16 fittings. Is this a good combo??

Compression fittings are designed to be used with the same diameter tubing. 5/8 size should be good enough.

Dark is correct.
Think about it like going to the hardware store and buying PVC piping...
You wouldn't get 1/2" pipe and 3/4" elbows...

tell us about your rig...

what cooling components do you already have...
what case as well?

compression fittings are quick to get wrong...
you need two details to get the right ones..
hose inner diameter (ID) you are looking for 7/16"
hose outer diameter (OD) you are looking for 5/8"

the 7/16" is middle-of-the-road size.. as the 3/8" and 1/2" are the most common.
depending on amounts of tube bending is usually why you want a particular size.
