Warhammer 40000 Space Marine

Hi everyone,

Has anyone tried the new THQ title, Warhammer 40000 Space Marine? It's the new top/3rd person shooter.

I'm currently trying out online thru Steam. So far there's only capture the flag and team deathmatches.

I'm playing it but I only play the SP. It's not the best game in the world it's just basically running around hacking, slashing and shooting Orcs. The graphics are really good though they are some of the best I have seen in a long time, I used to be into Warhammer 40,000 when I was a kid painting all the models and that and all the paint colors for the models are the ones they use in the game.

This game IS F'ING AWESOME!!!!

I really like it, the guns feel good and the meele is just so meaty i LOOOVE it

Haven't played the multiplayer

The single player wasn't too bad. Yeah, it did get a bit repetitive. Really like the Melta Gun; comes in handy when there's a swarm of Orcs charging at you.

I just used meele whenever i could, THUNDERHAMMER FTW!!!!

And only used the normal bolter and plasma pistol

Oh yeah, Thunderhammer...almost forgot about that. It's best used with the Assault Marine setup. Strike down from above; everything in the blast radius is knocked out. And then, you can do the execute action on the bosses.

Bolter with the Kraken upgrade is pretty good, especially in multiplayer. Kept dying so much just to get the Bolter upgraded. Also love the Devastator Marine. Once your Devastator Marine is fully upgraded, you'll be able to use the Lascanon and Plasma Canon. I usually stick with the Heavy Bolter. Has faster heat dissipation....it's all about better heatsinks....haha.

Oh great, I'll have to check Steam to see if anyone has added me to their friend list. I'm not sure how to set up a game either. So far you can only create Private Game but not sure how to request for a friend or have them join.

I've got the jump pack and the Thunderhammer unlocked for MP.

By the way, what is your Steam name?

Yup, it's a great game. SP was fun, but MP is even better. I think the creators are releasing another part for MP in October.

Well, I'll make sure I add you to the friend list once you're able to verify your Steam name.

Hmmm....time zone diff can be a bit of a problem. I guess weekends would probably be a better chance of playing MP.

Oh, all you need to do, assuming that you've got a Steam account is...

Go to Steam settings, and click on the Friends tab. You should be able to see your profile name next to your profile image there. So far I haven't been able to receive any friend request yet. No worries, we'll figure something out.

but im looking forward to co op so will give that a try with you when it comes out

I got the demo of this game the other night on the PS3

Thought it was amazing when I first played it.

I don't think it'll keep me interested for long enough tho

I'd go with keyboard and mouse, but that's just me.

It'll probably be easier to aim when using a mouse anyway, unless you're used to using controllers all the time.

Ya, it's pretty hard to see the faded out image of the 360 controller at the bottom of the game options. Will have to try using a gamepad and see how that works out.

SP is a cool experience, but it can get repetitive at points in the game. But, you've just got to love the jump pack with a thunderhammer combination....Death from above. ^o^

MP is probably the best part of this game. Co-op will soon be coming; can't wait to try it out.
