i am looking for a new case but my GPU will not fit whats the best way to get around it other then buying a different case ...... the case i want is the corsair air 240... and the gpu i have is the msi gtx 970 gaming

That card will fit. The case supports upto 290mm cards, the 970 gaming is only 277mm. At worse you may have to remove one of the front case fans, but pretty sure you won't need too.

Will there be enough height? I haven't got a 970 but I think it would be close to the window (if not through it)

Case says supports CPU cooler up to 120mm, looks like maybe a couple more mm (as you can fit a 240 rad in the front) but the GTX970 Gaming is 14.1cm in height.
It may be a case of see if anyone else has done it or not. I think the heat pipe may be too high.

Mmm don't think there will be enough. Saw some reviews that the 970 Strix is too tall for the case. Looked up the specs and the MSI and Asus cards are both the same height.

So OP. You need a different case. While you could still technically get it and wedge them in there..
1) Case will buldge, look funny.
2) After a while will warp or the plastic will melt due to the heatpipes resting against the window. Not exactly safe.
3) just get a different case if possible. Or swap out the GPU.

You could go a 540 and have the same look - it's just bigger in every way, or get a new GPU if you really want the small form factor.

jimma had the 540 .... and there wasnt much room left on my desk lol .....
dont wanna swap gpu as it goes with my build at the moment

Any gpu that is taller than the pci bracket is a problem in the Air 240. So ultimately you have to decide which is more important - case or card.
