Vista SP2 Beta avaliable.

Theoretically, like previous SP updates for windows stuff, at the point of install a Restore-Point is created IF and it's a big IF, ur system is setup for restore points. I would create a restore point too.

Theory here is, as with all of them, u can "roll-back". Usually a simple uninstall from Add/Remove will do it.

Remember however, this is a beta. And being a microsoft beta, I'd make a freakin image !

Ive already got it installed... seems the same tbh

Any different in terms of visuals?

Or is it all core-based changes.

And how does gaming feel?

Any improvements?

Nope and nope im afraid, not had a chance to have a proper play, but all seeems the same :(

I are going to install it for x64 and then come back and report. My comp keeps hanging for some reason, soooo...this might fix it.

Also, got GTA 4 to play, so thats pretty intensive on the old beast, so I'll let you guys know if i see any improvements, highly doubt anything will change. rofl

The best thing to do before installing SP2 is install Acronis True Image and backup your Windows system with it. If the SP2 doesnt agree with your rig you can then return your Windows install to the way it was before the SP2 install.

Well, its installed and I havent noticed any difference. I must say though, I seem to handle GTA 4 better now. A few more FPS. Dont know if is just a sort of placebo effect or if the OS is running a tad smoother.

Worth downloading though if only to experiment. Didnt take long at all to install either..

O o, if they don`t it could be cos they don`t have the OS display flag set in the reg.

Can't think which flag it is, but I`m sure google will help. I *think* it`s also OS Boot Info in msconfig, dont hold me to that tho.

Think they`ll all be eval until the beta is over.

how many times have you rebooted?

when i first installed and rebooted, there was no evaluation watermark, but after rebooting again, it appeared

i wouldn't worry about it tbh

same thing happened with the sp1 beta

when the official one arrives, the watermark will be removed

For sp1 mine never dissapeared, re-installed in the end...
