You know the windows sidebar, well each object on there is called a gadget. I was pretty surprised when i found out that they are simply html and javascript.

clicky here for microsofts gadget development site. There is a guide on there how to create a simple gadget.

Soooooo, knock yourself out! and dont forget to post your work up here!

You need to look at the BBC Radio gadget, brilliant!

what would it do? I was thinking about showing stats of the forums or something?

Not sure how hard it would be to parse html with javascript, or xms may be able to output the details onto its own page.

show reviews/news maybe even rank and how much points/WU for folding

the included Rss gadget can already do that i think.

EDIT: IE7 doesnt see the RSS feed for the main site (not the forum) as supported, so wont be able to do that. But the forums are supported.

Sorry to go a bit of topic.

But arn't "Gadgets" a copy of MAC's "Widgits"?

Anywho, The OC3D Gadget sounds pretty darn awesome!

You could have a mini version of the user control panel made? ;)
