Vista and Firewire 1394

Does anyone know why 1394 PCI cards that work on XP, don't work on Vista?

It seems a bit silly to me that they don't, and it also seems that nowhere sells ones that are explicitly 'Vista compatable'.

Sounds bizarre. They`re generally a very pnp piece of kit. These newer mobos don`t appear to have issues afai`m aware.

Wonder if Vista uses it`s own drivers ?? XP always did for me, never tried one in Vista as the transfer r8 in XP (tcp/ip) was so poor I never bothered sticking with them.
