I-Tech have released their virtual laser keyboard. It certainly promotes portability, but, will it be a flash in the pan or technology that can be properly utilised? Feel free to comment below...

Funnily I was just looking @ this on a retailers website today.

Nice idea but ultimately rubbish methinks. Without keys that you can feel and press down on, not only will you make a lot of typo's - but prolly end up hurting your fingers a lot too.

It's cool and all but I don't see it being that great of a keyboard. Seems like it would be awkard typing because you can't feel the keys when you hit them thus making you mees up me thinks.

they have had this for over 2 yrs @ thinkgeek.com pretty sure that it was compatable with most blueberry and windows mobile phones as well.

yep pretty sure I've seen this before but as you said for use with texting on mobile phones...bit of a hassle to set up for a phone imho but might help with people like me who have 'fat finger' syndrome...

Actually I've been talking to someone who studies medecine and this would be a nifty thing to have in an operating room, if they were modern and used computers at all.

The problem is that everything in the operating room has to be sterile, so I was thinking they could use this thing to project the keyboard on a throwaway panel, type in the patient's status, weight and stuff...

The blood splatter might confuse the keyboard though. We'll see. :)
