Pretty much sums up why I want more internets...

You have 5 fingers?

Nah it's actually mostly games, source code, netflix and other shows. 90% of my traffic is via SFTP and SSH

Just wish VM would come to my area....
Instead, stuck with BT Infinity and a 18/21 down and 6/7 up "Fibre", which uses Alu cables from the early 80's for the last <500m from the Dslam.
I live in Town less than 2 miles from the main exchange. There is trunking/conduit from the Dslam to a Street inspection/access point, which is in my front garden!!
I should get 35/38 ish down and 11/12 up, more with new copper....
I have battled with BT for over a year but have finally given up after many ( 12 - 15 ) engineer visits, line swaps, lift and shift etc etc

So yeah VM doubling their speed........nice bah humbug!

More speed is always nice but i'd prefer it if they focused on improving ping times and buffering issues; their own TV anywhere service is near unwatchable.

this is all good im all for uber high super duper lighting speeds, but please will a ISP just offer a 1:1 tier. Even if its only 50mb up and down that is consistent id get in a heartbeat!

That is not easy to do. It depends on the equipment the ISP has installed. It would either be Synchronous or Asynchronous hardware. I know my ISP has Asynchronous hardware, so I will never see a 1:1 ratio. The cost involved in changing this for ISP's would be staggering unless they are doing a total infrastructure overhaul.
