VIA are massive OEM's and at least their getting better. Used a via mobo for a mates PC and actually managed a decent OC (twas a very cheap AOpen board too )

I had a VIA chipped s754 board and it wasn't too bad, but definately did not compare to nForce.

Used a few via boards in non-enthusiasts pcs. They are fine if you want a...well... non-enthusiasts pc.
