Very little sound

Hi Guys

So I have now taken my folding rig to my sister to replace her 10 years old slooooooooooooooow one, I plugged in her old speakers (10 year old one, that have a blue jack on the end) anyway I plugged them into the green jack on the on board sound, of the gigabyte motherboard, and with the volume in windows on 100% the sound coming from the speakers wasn't loud at all. The speakers don't have a seperate volume control, just bog standard speakers.

I have said to my sister that the problem must be the speakers, as I am getting some sound, just not very loud, So she is going to buy some new speakers that have the right jack and a seperate volume control.....

This to sort the problem right????

You tried sticking it into the blue port?

If I were you I would just get new speakers.

Just get new speakers, some small 2.0 ones should do. They are dirt cheap nowadays.

Yeah tried putting them in the blue port but got no sound at all.

So its def the speakers isn't it?

If this happens to be a realtek soundcard in Vista then that could be causing the issue. Try some other speakers though

Its onboard sound in Windows 7

Could be that then Hayley. There are certain Realtek chips (which it most probably is being onboard) that need a driver to stop that happening. They did the same thing in Vista.

Look up the Dev_ID in device manager and put it into google. The Ven_ one too. Then look for a driver update, or, alternatively go to Realtek's site.

I had that issue recently when I reinstalled 7.
