Hi guys,
I have been considering building my very own computer for a while now and I have spent a considerable amount of time for the past couple of days researching the very best components in terms of price performance and compatibility. I would really appreciate if you guys would comment and suggest improvements to my overall build. For the most part I will be gaming (therefore over-clocking) and also using software such as Microsoft Office...
So without further to do below is a list of components that I have managed to decide upon.
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit
CPU:Intel Core i5 2500k
Cooling:XSPC Rasa 750 RS240 Water Cooling Kit (recommended by Overclock3D)
Mother Board: Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD7 B3
Video Card: Gainward GTX580 Phantom 1563MB
PSU: Corsair AX850 Gold 80Plus
RAM: Kingston HyperX X2 Genesis SE 4GB 2133MHz DDR3 Grey Series (Recommended by Overclock3D)
Boot OS Drive: 128GB Crucial C300 2.5" SATAIII SSD
Storage Drive: Samsung 1TB Spinpoint F3 SataII HDD
Optical Drive:Samsung SH-B123L
Case:Corsair Obsidian 650D
Total Price: £1574.10
I was having trouble deciding on what Primary Drive to go with since there were so many varieties but eventually I decided to go with the SSD, since they were more superior in terms of performance and so would be ideal as a OS boot Drive. My choice to go with the Crucial C300 was primarily down to its incredible 4K Read and Write speeds. I was told to look for better 4K performance in benchmarks rather then sequential speeds as it was more representative of day to day usage. (?) It would be great if you guys can suggest better SSD Drives in terms of performance and pricing.
My choice to go with the Phantom (besides being the flagship model) was down to its beautiful aesthetics as it would be absolutely ideal with the UD7
I was just wondering if this card is limited in terms of overclockability since the GTX570 Phantom that was reviewed by Tiny Tom had limitations.
One final thing I was using Google shopping for price comparisons and components
are there any better comparison/shopping websites?
