Venting anger

Me = pissed off :mad:

The sooner I can afford a new system the better, this ones given me nothing but headaches. I finally had it stable AT STOCK SPEEDS a week or so ago, and now the problems begin again. Sound loss in NFSU2, mouse locks up in CS:S menu but is fine for aiming in the game, temperature fluctuations - running at 32C for days, now idling at 36. The list goes on and on and on. I can't overclock for shit, hell I can't run properly at stock speeds.

I reckon its the RAM, could be the mobo. Sack of over-rated shit :banghead:

Thinkin EPoX EP-9NDA3+ with a 3000+/3200+ Winchester and some Ballistix PC4000 :yumyum:

these are some tips that i found , might prove helpful for you

"TIP: you have to disable cool n quiet when ocing

TIP: disable fast writes

TIP: use HTT multiplier 4x up to ~260 and 3x up to ~290

http://xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=20351&stc=1TIP: SATA ports 3&4 are not locked, use slots 1&2 (closest to the agp slot)

http://xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=20351&stc=1TIP: if you cant get command rate 1t to run try memory slots 3&4

http://xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=20351&stc=1TIP:It seems that dimm slots 1 and 2 dont not like 2x512MB (dual channel)"

ta, but it won't do much. This RAM can't run above its rated speed :rolleyes:

u sure about that ?

I ran my ballistix PC3200 all the way upto 270 mhz at 2.5-3-3-7 @ 2.85 V totally stable. its humming right now at 2.5-2-2-5 @ 250 mhz on an intel rig which belongs to the guy whom i sold them to.

Dont underestimate those micron modules . I would suggest trying them out on a different mobo.

nonononono, I don't have Ballistix, thats what I want :rolleyes:

I have Kingmax, and I read around on the net saying it will not run past its rated speeds

funny had a build a few months ago wit similar probs the prob was finally isolated :

the temp mon was reportin wringly and the fing was overheatin (62C with sep temp probe monitor) replaced the thermal paste from this hard to spread shinestu/coolermaster premium shit to antec formula 5 (after cleanin die/hs wit rubbin alcohol) and the prob healed itself;

imo faulty temp mon + high temps or your ram timings are too tight set to by spd/auto or loosen the fings

Mmmm, good parts, yum yum!

I'd advise you wait another few days for Venice though, it's gonna leave Winchester hangin' out to dry!

I would imagine u chose the 9NDA3+ because it's AGP? Only reason I ask is because you'll need to volt mod the board to make it maximize it's potential for your ram as the BIOS only allows you to go to 2.8. It's an easy mod and I have a quick guide on how to do it here if you choose to do so. But, if you can go with a PCI-E vid card pick up the 9NPA+ Ultra as they fixed the voltage control problem so that it's adjustable up to 3.1v and they also gave the BIOS a super advanced memory timing page that goes beyond the call of duty :) But, the 9NDA3+ is fucking sick and I recommend it for anyone looking at an NF3 board as I firmly believe it's the best one you could buy... Hell I did 2.79ghz stable on air w/ mine! :D

Aye, I can't really afford PCIE so I wanna keep my AGP 6600GT. Be ordering around the end of the month, so I'll get back to you on that volt mod :)

That's a nice AGP - don't blame you for keeping it. :cool:

Yeah, I spent £140 on it a month or so ago, so I'm not gonna blow another load on a PCIE one now :rolleyes:

Same with me and my 6800GT. I bought it cause it was gonna improve my gaming immensly and I don't wanna get rid of it now....ever.

I spect I'll get an extreme rig somewhen, but for now........ :cool: :worship:
