I am investin in Vapochill XE and i can get it for 150£ ...

Question:

1. Is it worth it?

2. Where can i get Kit for socket 775 ... ?

Thx.

What processor are you looking to cool. The XE uses R404A doesn't it? It should be ok for an overclocked quad I suppose. Then again you could probably get yourself a cheap SS, and our man Ham is probably the man to ask.

As for a Socket 775 head, I thought Asetek offered a standalone clamshell kit to upgrade existing VapoChill units. I can't seem to find their shop on the website though. They do mention it here though

As PV says, what cpu are you looking to cool?

Having a look at the specs they're pretty poor compressors. Also the XE II is a tad better than the normal XE (but not much, 2cc vs just under 4), which one is on offer?

I have Q6600 2,4Ghz and it os clocked to 3,3Ghz and it is XE version i am getting an offer on ... 150£ .. it isn't too much is it ?

BTW... Ham if i got it can u make a LGA775 kit for it or do u know where to get on in europe?

1, No it's not worth it at all what so ever.

2, Duniek makes custom Vapochill enclosers which fit every socket out to date. Cheaper and better than Vapo Chill. PM me i'll give you his contact info.

No Vapochill stock has held a quad at a safe temp. OC'd quad is 260W+. Vapo LS was ''tunned'' for 175-200w.

Ham far as i know is only just toying with the building of one for him self.

There 12v compressers, not 240/110v so there crap. Bin fodder, good for beer chiller! What mine is now!

Dude do not buy it. Honestly you can probs find a condensing unit on Ebay or such cheaper that can be made into a massive beast!

As my 1st post above i can direct you to someone for the encloser.

Honestly don't buy it. It won't run well on your quad it'll die

I've built before mate. Then re-built the same thing a few times... One that I'm working on now is 2nd from scratch unit.

Ive not used any of the vapos though, only my own work. So didn't want to jump in and say i wouldn't touch it with a barge pole in case they had some magic trick I hadn't read about. But if they don't, then I wouldn't touch em with a barge pole :p.

Didn't mean to put you down at all with my post. Just didn't know of what you had done etc etc.

They need new condenser as there too small, cap tube is too long, 7-10'' off, there ether under or overcharged never one ded cert it's varying, needs a lowside access valve and really should be given a high side too. Captube could do with being soldered to the suction accume to help for quad tuning. New encloser, re-gas. Oh can add a DSHC as well to help matters. Compresser though is the biggest draw back, 12v and small displacment, really small!

Only way to acess one of the Vapo unit is using a pircing valve too and a recovery unit, there are no acess ports on them. They just fill, fold the tube and braze it shut!

I stand corrected as I didn't know what wattage they were tuned for :) Thanks for clarifying

For some reason i cant send private messages please write me at ADMIN@THESAINTS.DK

Ok. then you are saying that i shoundnt buy it because it can not cool my cpu ??? it is strange because my friends cpu is 70C with the stock cooling and he gets it to -15C with Vapo... but i guess you do know what you are talking about ^^

HAM ! Do you build this things ?? is it something you sell and if yes what would it cost me ?? :-)

You need more posts to PM.

That you e-mail or MSN?

Stock cooling sounds right but is his unit exactly the same and not modded??

-15c is not good and would be wacking a lot of load on the system, is he 100% laoded on all 4 cores??

Oh and any of this directed at me?

And I dont know much about this stuff that is why i am asking arround sounding noobiesh questions

;-)

I heard that the colder cpu gets better that is, that is why i cant understand why is -15C not good, or eaven if i got -1C with my cpu on full load, wouldn't that be ok ??

Noobiesh is fine, i wouldn't say you are your new to it!

Colder the better yes but only so far will the CPU go under the cold. My E8600 ES loves -40c but under my cascade @ -120c it doesn't even boot!

-15 is pretty low on a Vapo unit and they are normaly higher and it tells me that the unit might be very over loaded and stressed out, meaning CATO and big bang!!!
