Valve a appeases Apple - removes purchases on Steam Link iOS app

This could also be Valve refusing to allow all the payments via apples in-app purchases. Both sides want a cut and valve doesn't want to share.

Both companies make big money from their storefronts, it is understandable why there is conflict, Valve doesn't want to sacrifice their cut, especially on expensive AAA releases.

Just inconvenient for end users, though it is understandable why Apple doesn't want to treat some app creators differently than others.

Its basically Apple wanting their standard oversized cut and Valve not having it.

Spotify now suggest that people should subscribe directly from them instead of apple store. You bascally save 4 or 5quid a month just subbing direct. Thats how much of an increase/cut apple get.

direct fee: 10 a month 100kr
via apple: 14 a month. 140kr

Gives you an idea why Valve probably said "no chance"

well

Actually the purchase would still be done via PC, not the app, since the app is just mirroring the pc?! So I don't think apple would even be in the right.
If you use Teamviewer ond your phone to access your PC to buy something, they wouldn't/shouldn't get a cut from that either?!
