v7 (7.2.9 etc) & GTX 560SE strange problem (only downloads G80 core & wu's)

Right i 1st tried v7 back when i 1st got my 560se but it always sat at 0%, never really looked into the problem as GPU Tracker V2 works fine.

So the other day i thought i'd give the latest version of v7 a try but again was hit with the same problem. Now the 560se is definitely in the gpus.txt file

[GeForce GTX 560 SE] 0x10de:0x1210:2:2:GF114 (granted this isn't my cards id, wonder if it makes a diff?) EDIT: actually my cards correct ID is listed.

And when started the client sees my card but here's the weird thing, instead of downloading a Fermi core it downloads a G80 core  and wu then my card just sits doing nothing. No matter what i try i can't get it to download the proper core & wu's.

Also same problem for this person as well... http://www.overclock.net/t/1322947/560-se-not-folding-in-v7

Anyone got any idea's?

Mate i am thinking with you ,
have you manually replaced the core to the 2.22 version ?
no idea if this helps you , as i am also just using the v7 client(s) only did the install guide...

Hope that helps a bit,
otherwise a Friendly *Bump !!

Greetings, Ray...

That's the thing Ray it doesn't matter if i manually add a Fermi core folder & V2.22 because the client just ignores it & proceeds to download a G80 FahCore_11 core & wu

Oo sorry mate, that other guy is still in the same boat it seems..
so avoids the GTX560se............

buying GTX560's ^_^

Have been messing around with it again this morning, had a try at changing the gpu_index & cuda_index as for some unknown reason V7 puts my cards ID to 1 but on my other rig my 460 is listed as 0.

Well anyway none of that worked, i've even tried deleting every card from the gpus.txt file except my own to try and fool V7 into thinking my card was the only card on the planet but again no go  EDIT: Needs to match whats on the server, if that's wrong 'which it is' then it won't fold.

Had to go out on my bike to clear my head & give my eyes a rest. I think i've tried every variation of text in Google to try & find a definite answer to this problem but again nothing. I'm at that stage now where i'm going to just say f*** it & buy a new card (gtx 650ti or 660) but knowing my luck i'll slap it in and be greeted with the same damn problem :lol:

Oh well happy folding :banghead:

P.S. Just to clarify the 560se did the same thing on my old E6600 Vista rig as well, the rig its on now is on Win7 so its defo gotta be the v7 client saying i shouldn't of bought a Shitty Edition :p

Oh nearly forgot, woke up this morning to find my 460 which has been munching its way through aload of 8057's had gone & got itself a GPU2 wu! just like the 560se problem BUT it hadn't downloaded a G80 core :o

I was like Grrrrr f**** **** **** had to delete the work folder etc & reboot several times before it decided to give me a GPU3 wu again, so i dont know what the **** is up with the v7 client thats for sure but i seem to be getting the brunt of it

Found this http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=23052&p=229672&hilit=g80#p229672 saves me having to open a ticket

It does appear that somewhere along the line that device got mischaracterized as a G80. I'll submit a request to have it corrected but you'll have to be patient until somebody can correct it on the server.

Thank you for the report.

Fingers crossed they get it working
