An old one of mine did this.

I couldn't even run data recovery on it. Sorry to say it's probably all lost. Someone else might know better though.

You can sometimes send it back to the company and have them run their tools on it, but that's only if it's a decent brand with a warranty.

good luck

If it won't work on PC and laptop it's looking like the stick's at fault. Have you enabled readyboost or eboostr on the o/s for this stick as this takes the storage for extra windows ram.

For now, have you got a memory card reader and card or phone or ipod/mp3 you can take the data to college on?

Sort out the stick later.

Stick sounds screwed mate. Look at the contact pins inside the usb plug, sometimes they get bent back. I had the same thing to me, but was able to fix the stick by using a small needle to bend the contact pin back into place.

Its a OCZ rally2 and im sure the pins are fine

The last i did was sync it to my network drive at college and went home, plugged it in and  nothing

Its doing the same at college :(

I've had 2 OCZ flash drives fail on me, nothing you can do unfortunately, usually when they fail thats it.

If you want a reliable drive, get one of those ultra small hard drives, at least you have the possibility of getting data back off them.

Is it a fairly cheap one that u would consider screwing the rma over ?

If so, personally I`d be trying to see if I could crack the sucker open to see if it`s anything like one of the usb copper strips bent or similar. Or maybe not making a contact.

Of course this is only a decision u can make - it`s cost/rma vS something silly internally.

If u`re not too electronics-savy, u could try and find an electronics guy at college, even a professor.

If it goes rma the chances are they won`t even look at it and just send u a reconditioned one back or something - so data=lost anyways.
