Upgraded Founders Editions - New RTX 4090 FE GPUs have updated power connectors

Does this mean a retrospective recall for all ATX 3.0 PSU's to get the new cable with the shorter sensor mount?

Only asking as I'm eyeing up a new Seasonic TX

This sure seems like a band-aid. What I do not like, for those of us who install our cables properly, there will be less surface contact between the pins, so what could happen after removing/reinstalling the connector a few times.

Wish they could just make the connector a little larger and put thicker pins throughout. I do like the idea of the 12+4 connector concept though. Less cables to manage but the risk does not seem to outweigh the reward yet.

Time will tell if this fixes the issue.

That's only for the logic pins, so firstly there will be no risk associated with the shorter pins since they do not carry power, and the fact that they are shorter shouldn't also be a problem, we have plenty of connectors that do this, like USB for example, power pins are way larger than data pins, have always been and that was never a problem.

Only for ATX 3.0 PSU's that opted to include a 12VHPWR port on the actual PSU. The likes of Corsair though with their new ATX 3.0 PSU's opted to have their own proprietary connectors on the PSU side which are VERY sturdy so all they need to do is change out the included cable in the box or offer 1 to existing customers.
