Upgrade time!

Hey guys, i need some advice. I'm trying to choose what to upgrade next, either MOBO or GPU.

My MOBO is currently a M5A87 with a FX8350 OC'd to 4.3GHz (210Mhz core, 20.5x ratio, 1.35v core 1.25v NB ). Unfortunately it idles at around 53C and peaks at around 65C with the fan going nuts at 5500rpm. I've heard that 970/990 chipset MOBOs can improve temps on AM3+ CPUs, so i've been looking at either the Asus M5A97 R2.0 or the Gigabyte 970A-UD3P which are £65 (Don't really want to spend more than that.)

My other choice is to swap out my terrible XFX 7950 DD for a EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Dual Classified w/ EVGA ACX Cooler at £100 (Mates rates :D)

Recommendations? I imagine i'll eventually get both, but i want to know which to get first.

Personally I'd go with the motherboard, and get the gigabyte one cos the powerphase on the asus isn't too good. I've got it an the power delivery really isn't too good.

Okay fair enough. That's not actually that big of a deal for me at the moment as power consumption needs to be kept fairly low due to moving to a house with an electric meter in. Besides, i'm looking to reduce temperatures in my rig, wouldn't shoving more power into it increase the heat?

Also, do people know if there is a temp difference between the 700 and 900 chipset boards?
