Hi guys, in a week im wanting to upgrade my system atm it is
Amd fx 6100 @ 4.4ghz
Sapphire 6850
Msi 760gm e51 fx
Patroit 2x2gb 1333
Ocz 750w

Now im gettibg an 6870 for real cheap so i want to crossfire with my 6850
But i cant figure out is my amd going to bottleneck it?
Ieither get a asrock extreme 3 990fx mobo with 8gb 1600 ram or sould i get
I5 3570k with cheap mobo that support crossfire?

What would you choose? Amd side is 120 euro cheaper and i like to keep most of my money if possible.

Cheers

Hey mate welcome !
can you still play your games the way you want to ?

If so , i wouldn't worry much as that is a pretty nice setup (don't think it will bottleneck to MUCH) if you ask me...
but if you want "CF" for e/looks I do understand ;)

Greetings, Ray....

Wel i need to get a new motherboard / cpu / ram and a power suply now :/
Was overclocking yesterday after 1 hour and 20 mins my pc shutdown.
I pressed the power button this morning and i hear a short circuit ( not sure if its called this way )
But i hear a little bang and now i dont have any signal to my screen (al my fans are spinning though)
Im on my backup pc put my graphics card in this one and it stil works so im going to have to change my mobo etc :(

Oh dear... sounds like a cap on the mobo fried, if you heard a pop, or the PSU. I would try quickly swapping in a PSU just to check. There may be enough juice to run fans on the current one, but that it is.
If not the PSU, then most likely mobo - but ram and CPU may be ok. Be worthwhile testing them in a seperate system...

I just tried with the psu of a friend but its just the fans spinning i think i fried the mobo had 1.435 volt on cpu that isnt to much id say :O

Wel i suppose next week il get a i5 3570k than...

Is the asrock z77 pro 4-m anygood?

I would look into the MSi Z77MA G45

I have built a system with this board before. Its a solid little thing. You will get an extra PCI x16 slot and a couple more USb ports.

Just my two cents. Hope it helps.
