Unofficial OC3D Drivers Team chat

Best track best car.

That said I had so many different drift cars in forza 2,3and 4 and I don't think I had a skyline :l. My current skidder of choice is actually a e36 M3 or an RX-7.

I really wanna pull the xbox out and have a good mess about with forza!

M3 is a good choice, i found the Rex to be way too rev happy, makes it very difficult to control when facing gradients on corners, always found having +0.5 tow on the rear helps, but makes the car track out too easy on the straights....

depends on if you want to fight the car on the straight or in the corners

yeah, the m3 is by far the easiest car I have. Decent amount of power (running the stock engine twin turbo'd), not twitchy and good brakes. My other fave car at the moment is a fox body mustang I have. Pretty much the same characteristics as well. I also have a maxxed out mx5 with a twin turbo rotary engine that only stops spinning the tyres at 120 mph but thats more of a supercar beater then a drifter. The RX-7 I have is pretty nice as well although a bit twitchy. I also own two of every silvia. All are kitted for drifting. I'd say about 80% of the cars I own are built for drifting.

Forza 4 is my fave so far. If you want to get back into drifting on forza, I'd wholeheartedly recommend it. Nice car selection, easy to make money and decent modifying options.

-edit- does anyone else have forza here? I was thinking of playing Horizon again and it'd be sweet to do a bit of casual car stuff in Horizon.

I tried to do an epic video but shadowplay and youtube kinda spoiled it. Somebody must teach me how to record games one day because it looked epic at 1440p 100hz.

Anyway the 1.36 barrier can be considered broken, this was with the car setup left alone using my G27. (1:35.994)

Anything you put on youtube will automatically be converted to 30FPS, so everything looks shit!

Make video, upload to photobucket etc post link....should come out better

I just tried uploading it to photbucket/vimeo but they cap at 500mb, if I made it a bit shorter I could probably get around that. It lost a lot of smoothness when capturing it with shadowplay and then a lot of fidelity when it went to youtube. Whats the best capturing method? I only have free FRAPS but that seemed to slow the game down far more than shadowplay.

Can't seem to do better than a 1:39. Losing so much time in the middle sector..

Second to last corner exiting the chicane gets me, I always over cook it I end up ether backing off too much or spinning out I hate that corner with a passion now

If you brake tight on the first part then get the nose pointing out of the corner and boot it you can come out flat in 3rd, shift up to 4th just past the second apex. To carry any speed onto that little straight you need to be quite slow on the entry but you can accelerate through the later part.

Yeah I think as JR said, the trick to that one is to brake before the first corner and get a good angle to cut across the second apex into 3rd then 4th.

That's cool if using manual box, but with a 360 controller manual gears is just not an option.. so it's all about getting the entry just right.

After a little searching I've found some official AS laptimes, 1.31.1 is top with "all" settings switched off. I do like the way their graph shows full details, Aids, Splits, times, pits... ;)

Why is a manual gearbox not an option? You just need auto clutch and then it should be just fine.
I played Gran Tourismo before with a manual gearbox and a PS3 controller and that was no problem.

I Just can't do it, I have a Sidewinder force feedback pro in the garage.... somewhere, but it means digging it out, haven't seen it in 10 years I just hope it still works.

I think gears on a controller is actually easier. I've only recently acquired a G27 myself. Give it a go with auto-clutch.

If you get any times you want to put on the golden lap board, post them here as I can't guarantee I'll see the times in this thread.

Has anyone considered using Rivali Tempo? Once installed you can set laps on a global leaderboard and filter by steam friends. Might make it easier?

I've got it installed. The leader boards are pretty nice. It shows you which assists they had on when the laps were set.
