Unifi G4 Doorbell Pro PoE Kit

I have been looking for a PoE doorbell for a while now

I came across the Unifi G4 Doorbell Pro PoE Kit which was the best PoE doorbell that came up on my google search but i am hearing mixed reviews as to if it will work with blue iris or not so really wanted to ask if anyone here has one and if it will work or not?

If not is there an option that anyone can recommend?

I don't want to go for a ring door bell for example and have to pay £200 for the door bell and then have to pay X amount each month just to be able to use it and i also want to keep the video footage here and not in the cloud

You need to run Protect to set up and use the G4 doorbell so you would need a controller with Protect on it. With the Unifi cameras you can do an rtsps stream from Protect to other software so that may work with Blue Iris, but I don't know for sure.

Yes that's my big reason for not buying one as yet, I have heard people say that you can do the setup etc with the unifi mobile app and then get all the information needed to enter in blu iris but I'm not a 100% confident so doubting if it's worth taking the plunge and buying one. Maybe i shall contact a reseller tomorrow and ask them if i can use this as a standalone product or if it needs a controller with protect to set it up and be usable.

I don't plan on buying any other Unifi products so if i can't use it on it's own i will look for another option
