Hi Guys

I am having trouble with my GTX580, everything was fine last night as I was playing MW2.... but today I keep getting random color lines across the screen. I have tried reinstalling the drivers but makes no difference.

Any idea's????

Cheers Hay

Try running furmark for a while Hays. If that flags an issue it could be RMA time.

Are you running multiple monitors? 'cos Nvidia's drivers are totally Tom Tit for that tbh.

this is what it looks like......

Looks normal there, but on my screen all the writing is pink weird, that it doesn't show

I have 3 monitors running, But its the same if I disable the other 2...... BUT if I drag for example the steam screen with the pink writing onto another screen everything appears how it should, i'm confused

Make sure the cables are securely fastened and are not loose. A loose cable may cause similar problems to what you're having.

Also, reset your monitor to factory default - it may have gone bonkers on a certain colour setting and make everything look funny.

I have a feel it is the card now, as I couldn't find another DVI cable so connected it via HMDI and the other monitor connected to that card is getting the pink lines.....

One monitor connected is fine, but when you add the second it starts playing up

Would you say it is RMA time?

I have 2 monitors plugged into second card now, and that works fine......

Have 1 monitor plugged in the card that is giving me jip, and got pink etc etc

OK so the monitors are connected to different heads on the card Hales?

It could be that a head or two has knacked. This happened to my 8800 Ultra. One of the heads when used in VGA only displays purple as the green line is borked, meaning you only get a mix of red and blue.

Definitely sounds like the head/s are knackered tbh. I know Nvidia are having problems with multiple monitors.

Have contacted Scan this morning, and I am RMA'ing the card back to them, but they aren't excepting them til after the new year now, which is all good, as am not well at the mo, and it is bloody snowing AGAIN!!!!

Just a quick update.....

Update....

Sent card back to Scan on the 4th Jan, was tested with 1 x monitor showed no fault, I have asked them to retest it with dual monitors as that is when the problem occured. but the problem only showed on one monitor not both. (Hopefully they will have the problem also)

Currently waiting for retest results.

Another update.

Just had a phone call from Scan, they have retested the card with dual monitors and still no fault found, this strange to what??

Does anyone know what else could have caused the problem I was having. I have been running just a single card while that one was at Scan and haven't had the problem since taking that card out.

Any idea's?
