Hi guys and gals
I have just bought windows 7 OEM home premium 64 bit and installed it on a second HDD. The OS on my original HDD is windows XP SPK3. How can I transfer my DATA...such as MS office 2000, MS Outlook, Firefox, other programs and games with all of my bookmarks, contacts, etc. to the HDD with MS win 7? :headscratch:

Your help is greatly appreciated. Also the largest USB Flash drive i own is 2 GB.

You could clone the OS, but it's always better to do a full reinstall. I know it will take much longer, but it is likely you will run into issues if you clone.

Windows has a built in feature that will allow you to create an image of your system. Just search for "backup and restore." The option to create an image will on the left hand side of the resulting window.

I dont want the XP OS on the HDD with windows 7 on it. I dont even want to keep windows XP, all I want to Keep (transfer / copy) are my programs, documents, photos, firefox with bookmarks, outlook with saved contacts-categorized emails games etc

Your programs will not transfer. You will have to install them again on your Windows 7 drive. Boot into your Windows XP drive and use the export feature in Outlook to get your mail folders/contacts. You can export your bookmarks out of firefox as well. Your documents and photos you can just copy over either by copying directly from the drive or copying to your jump drive and transferring that way.

I guessing both HDD's will need to be connected to Mobo to do this? If so how should they be configured. Right now they are both set up as master. I switch connections from one HDD to the other when I want to use the other HDD.

if you do a re-install of win7, make sure to inop the XP drive or it'll write to it and the XP
will not function correctly. set up Win7 (with xp disco) and then enable the XP drive after
install of Win7

I'm confused at what you are talking about. I'm not needing to do a reinstall of either OS (on separate HDD's).But thanks for your input on the re writing of OS on all HDD's

get a external hdd and save all the files you want to keep on it.(pictures videos documents)
