Total War: WARHAMMER will not support DirectX 12 at Launch

Creative Assembly has detailed the many CPU and GPU optimisation that has been made in Total War: WARHAMMER. Sadly the game will not support DirectX 12 at Launch.

I figured it wouldn't support at launch.. They were really quite about it for a long time!
Lots of good news here though. Hopefully when OCing the CPU you actually get more performance, before it wouldn't change much, and being CPU bound TW can use the extra speed

I am pretty sure I want this game. I come from the Warhammer side as I played the tabletop miniatures game. Have not tried the total war series.

I'm a huge total war fan so I definitely will be giving this one a look.

I really hope that this game lives up to what CA have said, as I want to see some high framerate dwarfs

I'm most excited to play as Dwarfs too actually. Then probably GS as they seem to have the most character with all there funny lines they say. I know the NDA lifted today, videos on YT are flooding with Warhammer right now. NO ONE has reported bad FPS or major bugs afaik. So seems to me they nailed there 1st launch in.. well forever^_^

edit: Really looking forward to your review then! Gives me a good base to start with since you are reviewing it with the FX(if it's a performance review).

All though I must admit that my bothers were into it and had an elf army and later all 3 brothers were into WH 40k - Me eldars, other bros were Space Marines Blood Angles and Chaos SM.

We all three had a pretty big army EACH..... damn my parents had money.... now that I have kids of my own everything is so damn expensive!

To the topic... then I will wait for some reviews as SEGA is DLC paradise...

I agree it seems like it will by far be the most fun to play in a long time. Well I love defensive play style with range and strong lines. That's how I always play so Dwarfs fit me perfectly. Orks and Chaos probably my next play throughs, just seem like a lot of fun especially with the WAGHH mechanic!

i know right? Sega really make CA look bad... although seems like Sega is letting off a little bit. Allowing more FLC this year and getting the choas DLC free for one week is a good sign that CA told them they need to listen up to the community because they have had enough.
