Tom Clancy's The Division will be free to play this weekend

I have got myself hooked back in this. It has become quite exciting again. However still no fix on SLI. That is in itself a big disappointment.

Gameplay wise it gets a good 2 thumbs up.

Co-op is probably the selling point tbh, it's way more fun with friends. On your own it's ... well it's hard!

Add me on uPlay (Subodai) and I'm sure we can start a decent 4man.

yeah will do later. Ive always been playing with Russians or Americans in group and well, the open channel chatting that kicks off is hilarious at times and unrepeatable. Lets just say East meets West and often finds its way into the pvp area.

DX12 has been added to The Division, Downloading the patch now and high CPU usage has also been addressed, Was seeing upwards of 50% usage on my 5930K which is a tad nuts at 1440P.

EDIT

It sucks, DX12 makes the game so stuttery.

I turned DX12 on tonight and I have to say, it helped my FPS, with SLi on it seems far less stuttery and pausy... dunno if it's just because of the patch in general, will try DX11 tomorrow / over the weekend. But overall, I'm happy with this patch / DX12 atm. No FPS increase, but A LOT less stalling.

How can it help SLI ? DX12 updated hasn't implemented it yet.

Less stuttery because you are only using 1 card I guess.

I have no idea, it just felt smoother. I'll do some proper testing and check if it's actually using SLi properly at all.

There was definitely a massive drop in the amount of slow-down and pausing/stuttering during busy-moments in the missions. Very noticable...

I'll do more testing over the coming days when I can.

Yeah I think this is your reason :)

From patch notes:

General changes
• Added support for DirectX® 12
o Multi-GPU (SLI/Crossfire) support not yet implemented

I meant to log on last night but fell asleep.. leg day at the gym haha

edit* even before patch I noticed when in SLI, I only gained a miniscule 10-15fps over single card. I wish they would get this sorted.

Hmm. That is very interesting

Sub can you please test Dx11 single card and SLI and tell me if you see a difference. Would be nice to see a second opinion.

put simply, im using a 4.5ghz OC'd 4790k with stock clocked 980ti in SLI. The difference I see between single card and SLI is just 15fps at most.

Is the lighting supposed to look so terrible? Maxed settings. Also the game crashes now when i go fullscreen. Isn't this game like a year old already? How is this possible?
